We have been designing and engineering, testing and trying and here it is:
The We freedive Float
The Best Freediving Float We Know Of™. Now available online!
All materials and the craftsmanship are fully sea worthy and will withstand even the scorching sun and salt of the red sea for a very long time. We know that nothing lasts forever, but this here is getting close. Some of our friends are still diving with the prototypes that evolved during the design of this one.
Using our experience with other floats and many of our own prototypes, we have come up with a float that will make your life in training or teaching easy and leave you with one less thing to worry about or be bothered by.
- It's rugged
Massively rugged. All the seams are reinforced and tested. All the materials are designed to be mistreated. When you chain up floats with a current pulling at them - well - it won't be your float that breaks. - It's orange
Apart from the good looks, it also makes it easy for boat traffic to avoid you and your friendly boat captain to pick you up even in heavy swell and grey skies. - It will drain instantly when lifted out of the sea!
Water will just fall through the bottom of the float. No more lifting 20kg of water after a long training session. -
It folds up into next to nothing for travelling
The float houses and protects a standard 14" car inner tube for buoyancy, which you can get pretty much anywhere in the world. Without that, it makes a good protective bag to keep your kit together or folds up into an unused corner in your backpack. - It has got lots of loops in- and outside
At sea, anything that's not attached might as well be considered lost. So we have added loops and hoops to attach things in- and outside to keep hold of your cameras, snorkels, lanyards, waterbottles,... - It has room enough for a decent length of line
An 8mm line to the bottom of the blue hole shouldn't be an issue with this. Our 40m/8mm line leaves lots of space for water bottles, cameras et al. - It holds your fins when you don't need them
Want to go CNF? No problem. The handles on the outside are designed to hold at least two pairs of long fins, so you can leave them at the surface and rest assured they'll still be there when you're back. - It makes rescue (-training) a breeze
It is reportedly the most comfortable float to be dumped on in a rescue exercise and has no sharp edges to threaten your spiffy smooth skin suit. :-)
The We freedive Float™ is now in stock and on sale worldwide.
The We freedive Lanyard
A Lanyard is a safety device and as such we make no compromise in the quality of the used materials or the craftsmanship. Our lanyards are made from all marine grade materials. The snap hook on the far end has no edges or pointy bits to tangle or catch on the line or its markings. Tthe wrist end features a snap shackle that you can even release with the hand the lanyard is attached to.
Default length is 1.25m, conforming with AIDA competition rules as well as UFC regulations. If you prefer any other configuration, ask us and we'll make one to your specifications.
Lanyards in standard configuration are 64€ plus shipping. Add 5€ for custom designs.
