We freedive offer courses for the absolute beginner through to specialised and personalised training for world-class divers. Our courses are conducted to fully comply with the standards of the International Association for the Development of Apnea, AIDA or the Apnea Academy, but You may well find some more in our courses than these agencies deem enough.

We offer these courses in our headquarters in Phuket, Thailand and also in Malaysia, Indonesia, Singapore and all over South-East Asia (or the World, if you want!)

Given our backgrounds, a We Freedive course will contain more than AIDA or Apnea Academy or SSI require for their respective certification levels. As our student, you will benefit from our many years of experience and get the best of everything that we have learned - from in-water relaxation techniques applied by some of the most prominent freedivers to the most efficient training schedules, specifically designed for you.

All our courses and training also based on in-depth video analysis of confined water and open water dives and in instructor classes also teaching sessions, this is one of the most powerful teaching tools you will see used in a course.

In cooperation with Sea Bees Dive Centre we are also offering course packages including accommodation at the Palm Garden Resort.

AIDA Courses

AIDA * - 1 Day, 3'000 THB

The AIDA * course takes place over one day and is for the complete beginner, for anyone who wishes to learn the very basics. It is aimed to develop basic freediving skills, knowledge and safety procedures,  giving you an insight into the fascinating world of freediving. Taking the AIDA * will make you a more relaxed snorkeler and might just make your SCUBA dives a little bit longer and more enjoyable.

AIDA ** - 3 Days, 8'900 THB

The AIDA ** is a foundation course and takes place over 3 days and includes two theory sessions, one confined water session and three open water sessions. It is designed to be a freediving beginners course for students who are already confident and happy in the water. This course develops the student's knowledge, skills and safety as well as introducing the sport of freediving with some of the freediving disciplines: static apnea (STA), dynamic apnea (DYN), free immersion (FIM) and constant weight (CWT).

AIDA *** - 4 Days, 11'100 THB

The AIDA *** is a more advanced course run over four days and builds on the skills learnt from the **. The course is designed to develop new skills and greater knowledge going into some more depth and introducing the mammalian dive response, the effects of increasing and decreasing pressure and how to minimize any incurring risks. More safety procedures, training and relaxation techniques and new techniques for freediving are trained, such as free falling and training tables. In its essence, our AIDA *** course teaches a freediver how to train in an effective, efficient and safe way and to better understand what a certain training method will do and how it can or should be employed for the desired improvement.

AIDA **** 5 Days, 14'050 THB

The AIDA ****, also known as the Master Freediver is an expert course. It builds on the skills learnt in the *** course and takes the freediver to a whole new level of understanding. The **** introduces expert knowledge, and advanced techniques that are often used for competitive freediving. A certified AIDA **** freediver is not only considered a master freediver, but may also act as assistant instructor in AIDA courses. The AIDA **** course content is scheduled to be a five day course. It is a good choice to allow a couple of days by the end of it, as it is a quite demanding course and likely take a bit of extra training on the specifics until the qualification is actually achieved.

AIDA Competition Freediver - 2 Days, 5'950 THB

The Competition Freediver course can be taken after achieving the AIDA ** qualification. This course is for those who got the bug and want to test their skills in national or international competitions. While getting some more training with our experienced instructors, you will be trained by an AIDA judge for the perfect knowledge and compliance with the AIDA competition rules and we will also open our box of tips and tricks that make life in competitions easier. Let's see what you can do!

AIDA Competition Safety Freediver and AIDA Competition Deep Safety Freediver - 2 Days, 5'950 THB

The AIDA Safety Freediver course prepares AIDA ** and above qualified freedivers for the safety procedures and rules in competitions, so you can actively participate as a safety diver in national and international competitions. Apart from its uses in competitive freediving, this training will also make you a more confident buddy.

AIDA Monofin Freediver - 2 Days, 5'950 THB

The Monofin freediver course is for AIDA ** and above qualified freedivers to gain knowldge of the technique and skills involved with using a monofin. Students learn to use good technique through development of a training programme and exercises. This course covers monofin freediving in the pool as well as to depth in the open water.

Apnea Academy events

Apnea Academy Level 1-3 Freediver courses - Duration and Price on Request

The level 1 freediver is an intensive week of education and training, on dry land and in the sea - and it just starts from there. More comprehensive, more work, and a brilliant experience altogether.  Available for two or more students.  Feel free to ask us for more details and available dates.
