Learn Watsu with Kim Hartz in Thailand

Watsu with Harold Dull We have something very special going on: Kim Hartz is coming over from the USA to teach a Watsu 1 course here in Phuket from the 24th - 28th October!

Join our FREE DEMONSTRATION SESSION on Sunday, 23rd October, 17:30-18:30 at Palm Garden Resort, 4/10 Moo 5, Soi Ruam-U-Thit, Viset Road, Chalong Bay.

Watsu was created in the early 1980s as a form therapeutic in-water bodywork, influenced by Zen Shiatsu and we are very much looking forward to incorporating this powerful relaxation tool into our syllabus.

What is Watsu?

Watsu® is a truly contemporary spa therapy, inspired by an ancient oriental practice and creatively meeting modern needs.

Here is an introduction to Watsu by Kim Hartz.

Why learn Watsu?

Learn to use Water as a healing tool, helping you to relax your partner's body, by utilizing the water through movement, floating, and suspension, to relax the joints and decompress the spine; perfect for Arthritis, Fibromyalgia, Back Pain, hip or knee pain.

You will learn to use the movement of the body, and the resistance of the water to ease any aches and pains. Allow, and let the water and Watsu show you how to slow down, and relax and heal with each other. As in Tai Chi, you stay grounded in your stance while you float and stretch someone to the rhythm of your connected breath. You will be led through a simple but complete form.

You can take this course to deepen your meditation, your relationship to water, your connection to others - and to help others by relieving pain and establishing peace and relaxation.

watsu3_haroldIn the first stage of Watsu 1, you learn Watsu's Tai Chi-like Basic Moves and positions and how, staying grounded and connected by the breath, you can let the water do the work. In its continual return to the Water Breath Dance, you find the stillness that is the ground of presence.

In the second stage you learn to connect these basic moves and positions with long gracefully flowing transitions into the Transition Flow. You learn to adapt this to people of all sizes, shapes and dispositions. You learn about your own body mechanics - how to support and move each person as effortlessly as possible in the water.

As in each stage of our program, the form learned has its own organic unity and can be repeated over and over, without losing its freshness or benefits for both giver and receiver.

You can find out more about Watsu on the Watsu Website.

Students who have studied Watsu 1 with Kim Hartz write:

7/27/2011 ... Be well rested...it is very consuming.

7/16/2011 ... I loved every minute of the class. There was a lot to learn in a short time, but we worked together, both with the instructor and with the other students. We laughed and also worked very hard. Was the perfect balance of the two. At first we all felt uncoordinated with our movements...but it all slowly came together. Practice Practice Practice....and ask questions!
